A Brief.
“How to start a movement”
The article will talk about various successful political and artistic movements in the past. I hope to find similarities in the way in which movements start, gain popularity, affect change and eventually die out. It might even be possible to create a step by step blueprint for action for someone who does want to start a movement of their own.
How has the nature of movements changed with the onset of the internet? What is a Movement in today’s scenario? All of us have at some level lost faith in the idea of protests and slogan shouting. Let’s use design to throw up some absurd, yet possibly effective ways of starting a movement.
Also, what is the point of a movement? Does it ever achieve what it set out to do? And if not, is it completely pointless?
